Cross-sectional area: A = πd² ÷ 4

Wire volume: V = A × L

Wire weight: W = V × ρ

Steel shortcut: Weight (kg) = d² × L ÷ 162.2

Total ties: N = intersections × ties per intersection

Total length: Ltotal = Lbase × (1 + wastage ÷ 100)

Diameter must use consistent units before area calculation. Length is converted into meters for weight estimation. Density remains editable for specialized wire materials.

What is tie wire?
