Rectangular plate weight: Length × Width × Thickness × Density × Quantity.
Dimensions entered in millimeters: Weight (kg) = Length × Width × Thickness × Density × 10−9.

Rolling tolerance, alloy composition, surface coatings, and dimensional variation affect actual mass.
Which steel density should I use?
Use the mill certificate density when available. Otherwise, 7850 kg/m³ suits common carbon and mild steel estimates.
Does galvanizing increase plate weight?
Yes. Enter an estimated galvanizing mass per square meter to include it.
Can the calculator estimate stainless plate weight?
