Formula used

Purified IV formula

Purified IV = min(15, Shadow IV + 2)

Combat Power formula

CP = floor((Base Attack + Attack IV)
× sqrt(Base Defense + Defense IV)
× sqrt(Base Stamina + Stamina IV)
× CPM² ÷ 10)

The displayed CP never falls below ten.

Hit Points formula

HP = max(10, floor((Base Stamina + Stamina IV) × CPM))

PvP stat product

Stat product = Attack × Defense × floored Stamina

The calculator finds the highest eligible level under the selected cap.

Raid cycle estimate

Cycle DPS = (Fast Power × Fast Count + Charged Power)
÷ (Fast Duration × Fast Count + Charged Duration)
× Attack Scale × Battle Multipliers

How to use this calculator

  1. Select the Shadow Pokémon or choose custom stats.
  2. Enter current CP, HP, level, and appraisal IVs.
  3. Enable level inference when the exact level is unknown.
  4. Confirm the purification tier and available resources.
  5. Choose target levels and upgrade cost assumptions.
  6. Open PvP options for league-specific comparisons.
  7. Open raid options for a transparent move-cycle estimate.
  8. Select personal goals affecting the recommendation.
  9. Add bulk rows when planning several purifications.
  10. Calculate, review warnings, then export your results.

Understanding Pokémon GO purification decisions

Purification changes more than a Pokémon’s appraisal. Each individual value gains two points. Every value still stops at fifteen. A thirteen becomes fifteen after purification. A fourteen also becomes fifteen. The calculator reports capped gains separately. This helps explain lost improvement potential.

Why purified CP can jump

Purification usually raises lower-level Pokémon to level twenty-five. That level change can increase CP sharply. Pokémon already above level twenty-five keep their higher level. The calculator compares entered, inferred, purified, and target levels. It also shows HP at each stage. Matching CP and HP can reveal possible levels. Multiple matches remain visible for review.

Why better IVs may perform worse

Shadow Pokémon receive an offensive battle modifier. They also take increased damage. Purified Pokémon lose those Shadow effects. Therefore, higher IVs do not guarantee higher raid damage. The raid panel separates stat improvements from Shadow output. Users can edit every battle multiplier. This keeps assumptions visible and testable.

League rankings need separate checks

Great League and Ultra League reward efficient stat distribution. Extra Attack can reach the CP cap sooner. That can reduce achievable bulk. Purification may improve one league spread. It may weaken another spread. Full ranking evaluates all 4,096 IV combinations. The tool then compares each path’s best eligible level. Stat product remains an estimate, not matchup proof.

Resource planning matters

Shadow upgrades normally cost more resources. Purified upgrades normally receive discounts. Purification itself also costs Stardust and Candy. The cheaper path depends on starting level. It also depends on the target level. This calculator totals both paths together. Candy XL is tracked separately. Positive savings favor purifying before upgrades. Negative savings favor keeping the current path.

Moves and collection goals

Purification replaces Frustration with Return. Return can later be changed. Event moves still require separate planning. Trading, Mega Evolution, rarity, and duplicates matter too. A rare Shadow may be difficult to replace. A perfect purified Pokémon may satisfy another goal. The recommendation combines selected priorities. It never claims universal certainty.

Use editable data carefully

Game data can change after updates. Shadow availability also rotates over time. The bundled list supports quick planning. Custom fields support missing forms immediately. Always verify current species data before spending resources. Save JSON files for repeat comparisons. Export CSV for spreadsheets. Export PDF for simple records. Better inputs produce more useful decisions.

Evolution and form comparisons

Purification decisions can affect evolution plans. Base stats change after evolution, while IVs remain. Select the evolved species for CP projections. Compare both forms before committing Candy or special items. Regional forms may use stats and move choices. Cost tiers can also vary between eligible species. Custom entries cover forms missing from the starter list. Validation warnings identify impossible or inconsistent combinations. Review warnings before trusting the displayed projection. Document assumptions when sharing results with other trainers.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to IVs after purification?

Each Attack, Defense, and Stamina IV gains two points. No IV can exceed fifteen. The calculator shows both the final spread and capped gains.

What level does a purified Pokémon become?

A lower-level Pokémon is normally raised to level twenty-five. A Pokémon already above that level keeps its higher level in this model.

Does a perfect purified Pokémon beat its Shadow version?

Not automatically. Shadow damage can outweigh several IV points during raids. League matchups, bulk, moves, and available resources also matter.

Why does the calculator show multiple possible levels?

Several levels can occasionally match rounded CP or HP information. The calculator displays every exact match and uses the first result for projections.

How does full PvP ranking work?

The server evaluates all 4,096 IV spreads. Each spread uses its best eligible level under the selected CP cap. Results are sorted by stat product.

Is the raid estimate a complete simulation?

No. It is a transparent move-cycle comparison. Dodging, boss defense, energy waste, fainting, relobbying, and move timing require deeper simulators.

Can I enter an unavailable Pokémon form?

Yes. Choose Custom Pokémon, then enter base Attack, Defense, and Stamina. You can also select a custom purification cost tier.

Does purification always teach Return?

The planning model assumes purification replaces Frustration with Return. Check current game rules before acting, especially after special events or move changes.

Can the calculator plan several Pokémon together?

Yes. Enter CSV-style rows in the bulk planner. It totals Stardust, totals Candy, and identifies perfect purified candidates.

What do JSON files contain?

JSON files contain the current form fields. They help restore scenarios later. They do not include account credentials or live game data.

How accurate are the bundled species details?

They are a starter planning dataset. Stats, availability, costs, and mechanics may change. Verify important decisions against current game information.
