Advanced SPF Lookup Counter Calculator

Inspect SPF syntax, recursive includes, redirect chains, void lookups, DNS costs, sender outcomes, and optimization risks before publishing changes to production mail systems safely.

SPF analysis settings

Leave the raw record empty to retrieve SPF from live DNS.

Requires the dig command. Otherwise, PHP uses the system resolver.
Use one domain and SPF record per line. Separate them with | or =>.

How the lookup counter works

The calculator counts include, a, mx, ptr, exists, and redirect terms. It then expands nested include and redirect policies. The displayed recursive total is intentionally conservative.

Sender simulation processes terms from left to right. It stops after the first matching mechanism. Live DNS availability depends on the server running this PHP file.

Important implementation notes

  • Custom resolvers require the dig command and permitted shell execution.
  • Manual dependency records make offline and repeatable testing possible.
  • Macro support covers common values but not every advanced transformer.
  • PTR processing is intentionally limited and should not replace specialist mail testing.
  • Use Print / PDF to save a browser-generated PDF report.
