Formula used

sin(θ) = opposite ÷ hypotenuse
Radians = Degrees × π ÷ 180
Degrees = Radians × 180 ÷ π

Frequently asked questions

What does nearest hundredth mean?

It means keeping two digits after the decimal point. The third decimal digit decides whether rounding increases. A result like 0.706 becomes 0.71 after rounding.

Can I enter radians containing pi?

Yes, the expression box accepts pi or the π symbol. Examples include pi/6, 3*pi/4, and 2π. Only safe arithmetic characters are accepted by the calculator.

Does the calculator support negative angles?

Yes, negative angles are calculated normally. You may also normalise them into a positive coterminal angle. The sine sign remains mathematically consistent in both forms.

Why can a sine value be negative?

Sine is the vertical coordinate on the unit circle. It becomes negative in the third and fourth quadrants. The visual diagram highlights the current angle and position.

What is the difference between rounding and truncating?
