The model may contain rigid-body motion. Add sufficient restraints and check disconnected or zero-length elements.
What is a prescribed displacement?
It fixes one degree of freedom. Enter the node, selected degree, and required displacement value.
Can I apply distributed loads?
Yes, beam and frame elements support uniform loads. Point loads can also use a relative element position.
How are plane stresses calculated?
Three-node constant-strain triangles are assembled. Element strains and stresses remain constant inside each triangle.
