Formula used
Elapsed time equals the current timestamp minus start time. Paused duration is removed from elapsed time. Timestamp calculations remain accurate in inactive browser tabs.
Lap time equals the current split minus prior split. Average lap divides total lap time by laps. Pace divides lap time by the entered distance.
Countdown remaining equals duration minus active elapsed time. Interval progress follows work and rest cycle lengths. Completion occurs after every configured round finishes successfully.

Frequently asked questions
Does timing continue in another browser tab?
Yes, timing uses timestamps instead of frame counting. Hidden tabs may update displays less often. Returning shows the correct calculated elapsed time.
Can I record unlimited laps?
The calculator accepts many lap entries during sessions. Browser memory creates a practical storage limit. Export long sessions regularly for safer retention.
What does split time mean?
Split time measures total elapsed session duration. Lap time measures one individual segment only. Both values appear within each lap record.
Can countdowns repeat automatically?
Yes, choose the desired repeat count first. The timer restarts after each completed countdown. Completion alerts occur after the final repetition.
How are interval rounds counted?
Each round contains one work phase and rest. Final rest is skipped after the last work. The completed interval counter updates automatically.
Can I save custom timer presets?
Yes, enter a name and save settings. Presets remain inside local browser storage. They can be loaded or deleted anytime.
Does the wake lock always work?
Wake lock depends on browser and device support. Secure pages usually provide better compatibility. The timer remains accurate without wake lock.
How does PDF export work?
The print button opens the browser print dialog. Choose the available save-as-PDF destination there. Printed output excludes interactive controls automatically.
Where is my timer history stored?
History stays inside local browser storage only. No session data is uploaded by this page. Clearing browser storage removes saved information permanently.
