Formula used

The calculator rates twelve categories from zero through ten. Each score receives its selected percentage weight. The weighted average becomes the numerical power estimate.

Bracket rules are assessed separately from the average. Game Changers, speed, intent, and compact combos can raise it. Manual overrides remain available for agreed playgroup expectations.

Limitations

No formula can fully measure multiplayer deck strength. Piloting, mulligans, matchup knowledge, and table politics change outcomes. Treat every score as structured conversation support.

Local detection uses a maintained starter catalogue. New printings and rules may change classifications. Confirm official lists before organized or public play.

Frequently asked questions

Is a power score objective?

No. The score organizes measurable signals and player estimates. Different pods may value those signals differently.

Does power level equal Commander bracket?

No. Brackets describe intent, expectations, and important deck contents. Numerical strength remains a separate estimate.

Why can one Game Changer raise my bracket?

Brackets 1 and 2 normally exclude those cards. Their presence signals a different expected experience.

Can an Exhibition deck use unusual cards?

Yes, after a clear pregame agreement. Theme and presentation should remain the deck's priority.

Are tutors automatically high power?

Not always. Efficiency, flexibility, and targets determine their effect. Slow tutors can support casual themes.

Why does expected win turn matter?

It describes when opponents should expect decisive pressure. Reliable early wins strongly affect pod suitability.

Does the tool identify every combo?

No. It detects selected common patterns and trusts manual counts. Novel interactions still require human review.

Can I compare two decks?

Yes. Enter the second decklist and its known metrics. The result highlights major bracket differences.

Should I update the card lists?

Yes. Game Changers and banned cards can change. Verify official sources before relying on legality results.
