Planning guidance
A cement bags estimate begins with accurate project dimensions. Small errors in thickness can change material quantities significantly. Measure several locations when the base is uneven.
The wet-to-dry factor accounts for voids and material behavior. A preset may suit early budgeting, but local practice should control. Confirm the factor before ordering large quantities.
Nominal ratios express material parts by volume. They do not automatically guarantee a required concrete strength. Structural work should follow an approved mix specification.
Water demand depends on moisture, grading, admixtures, weather, and workability. Excess water may reduce strength and increase shrinkage. Treat the displayed water value as preliminary guidance.
Waste allowances cover handling loss and site uncertainty. Complex pours often need a larger reserve than simple slabs. Avoid combining overlapping percentages without reviewing each assumption.
Material densities vary with moisture and compaction. The calculator permits custom values for better local estimates. Supplier data is usually preferable to generic defaults.
Cost results depend entirely on entered prices. Delivery, taxes, pumping, storage, and labor may be substantial. Include every expected charge before approving the budget.
Always round bag purchases according to site policy. Whole-bag rounding prevents shortages during placement. Store cement dry and use older stock first.

What cement density should I enter?
Use supplier or local reference data. The default is 1,440 kg/m³, but bulk density can vary.
What is the wet-to-dry volume factor?
It increases wet finished volume to estimate loose dry ingredients. Common preliminary values include 1.52 and 1.54.
Can this calculate plastering cement?

Can openings be deducted from a wall?
