Is this an official AP score calculator?
No. It is an unofficial planning tool. Official score conversions are determined through College Board scoring procedures and may differ from any public estimate.
Why can I change the score boundaries?
Public practice tests and teacher-created exams can use different conversions. Adjustable boundaries let you model conservative, moderate, generous, or custom assumptions.
Does guessing reduce my score?
The calculator counts correct multiple-choice answers. It does not subtract an additional guessing penalty. Unanswered and incorrect questions simply do not add points.
How are the essays scored?
Each essay supports a six-point model: one thesis point, up to four evidence and commentary points, and one sophistication point.
What does the uncertainty range mean?
It shows how the estimated result could shift when a score sits near a boundary. It does not represent an official confidence interval.
Where is my practice history stored?
Practice attempts are saved in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to a database by this application.
Can I export a report?
Yes. The calculator supports CSV, a simple PDF report, browser printing, copied summaries, and a separate CSV export for practice history.
What should I improve first?
Start with the section losing the most weighted points. Within essays, evidence and commentary usually provide more available points than sophistication alone.
