Formula Used
Gross Duration = End Date and Time − Start Date and Time
Net Duration = Gross Duration − Unpaid Breaks − Excluded Time
Variance = Actual Duration − Planned Duration
Overtime = Maximum of 0 and Net Hours − Regular-Hour Threshold
Gross minutes = end timestamp − start timestamp Net minutes = rounded gross minutes − unpaid break minutes − excluded minutes Regular minutes = minimum of net minutes and overtime threshold Overtime minutes = maximum of zero and net minutes minus regular minutes
How to Use This Calculator

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the calculator handle overnight shifts?
Yes. Use an end date after the start date. The duration crosses midnight automatically.
Are paid breaks subtracted?
No. Paid breaks remain inside paid duration. Unpaid breaks reduce net scheduled time.
How are multiple breaks handled?
Add as many break rows as needed. Each break may use times or fixed minutes.
What does workday-only mode do?
It counts time inside selected weekdays and daily work hours. Holidays are excluded.
How does overtime calculation work?
Choose a per-entry or total threshold. Time above that threshold becomes overtime.
Can I compare planned and actual time?
Yes. Enter planned hours and minutes. The calculator reports positive or negative variance.
Can schedules be imported?
Yes. Import a CSV file using the documented columns. Imported rows become schedule entries.
How are conflicts detected?
The calculator compares entry timestamps. Overlapping entries receive a visible conflict warning.
Can I save a schedule?
Yes. Local saves remain in the current browser. Clearing browser storage removes them.
