This page estimates physical chamber capacity only. It does not recommend a pesticide, fumigant, concentration, exposure time, or dose.
Fumigants can be acutely toxic and may create fire risks. Use only registered products under their current labels and applicable local law.
Qualified supervision, sealing tests, gas monitoring, warning signs, aeration, and controlled re-entry may be required. Never place an active fumigation chamber inside occupied living spaces.

Why is bulk density adjustable?
Paddy density changes with variety, moisture, impurities, and packing. A measured density gives a more reliable chamber estimate.
Does the calculator always use exactly 3 kg?
The default mass is 3 kg. You may change it for testing or another batch.
What does headspace mean here?
Headspace is extra internal volume above the estimated grain volume. It is a planning allowance, not a fumigant-rate instruction.
Why is a maximum fill percentage included?
It provides a second capacity check. The calculator uses whichever sizing requirement is larger.
Should external chamber dimensions be entered?
No. Enter internal dimensions because wall thickness does not hold grain or headspace.
Can the calculator check an existing container?
Yes. Choose Existing capacity and enter its verified internal capacity.
Does moisture content change the calculation?
Moisture is recorded but does not automatically modify density. Enter a density measured for the actual batch.
Does this calculator determine fumigant dosage?
No. It intentionally excludes dose calculations and only stores optional label references.
Why should calculated dimensions be rounded upward?
Rounding downward can reduce capacity below the requirement. Upward rounding keeps the design at or above the estimate.
Can the results be exported?
Yes. You can copy results, download CSV, create a PDF, or print the page.
Is a passing capacity result a safety approval?
No. It only confirms the selected volume calculation. Operational safety still requires professional checks and legal compliance.
